An Understanding Of Dr. Akbar R Khan Quote.
“Without clear lines of communication, our ideas would stay within our own
small development teams instead of becoming mature products. While this is
obvious to those of us who have become experienced engineers, the real
question is: Why is it lost to us when we are engineering students?”
-Dr. Akbar R Khan, Software Systems Engineer, USA,
“Good Communication Is Essential...” (2014)
My understanding of the quote stated above is that in the working world, teams from different departments are required to work together to get the job done. Which is why having good communication skills be it verbally or electronically is of upmost importance.
As students however, we do not need to work with other teams to bring our idea to fruition. Hence, the idea of being able to communicate our ideas to another team is a concept that would normally go over our heads. This inability of communicating our thoughts tend to only come to light when us students enters the workforce.
You'll be surprised how often just in our module you will need to work in teams to bring your ideas to fruition. Buckle up, Khai!
